Fume 3.5 with TP 5.2 - particle group ignored.

I have run into a few issues using TP as a particle source.
I have some seed particles which leave a trail of particles in a different group.
I can use the seed particles in fume, but the trail particles are ignored. They are emitting the default values for fuel, smoke...
This group also doesn't show any of the viewport displays for radius size.
I also have a separate issue where the TP particle group names are not displayed correctly.
Please see attached screengrab.

3ds Max crashes with FumeFX

Hi again,
since version 3.5.1 FumeFX crashes 3ds Max very often. It usually happens after a sim, when I want to create a preview. As soon as i click the FumeFX-menu, 3ds max crashes with "Application error... do you want to save your scene?". Saving the Max-scene after the sim works though, so it only happens when clicking the Fume-menu. Strangely, this happens very often, but not everytime. Pretty much all of the scenes I am working on show that behaviour, so I doubt it is anything scene-related. The machine is using Win7, it occured on 3ds Max x64 2012 and 2013.
Do you have any idea what the problem is?
Thanks
Bjoern

Here is a capture from my viewport.
I have a fumeBirth and a fumeFOLLOW nodes in TP5.1
The particles are spinning around themselves like in a vortex, and don't follow the smoke movement.
In fumeFX, I export smoke and Velocity channels.
Am I wrong somewhere ?
Thanks

Hi,
I just bought the latest FumeFX package (Max2012 64Bit) and installed it on my workstation which happens to be a relatively powerful Dual Xeon X5650 (6-core) @2.67 GHz - 48GB Ram - Quadro4000
I started watching the tutorials and could see the performance of that thing during preview. Per frame it was very fast in the videos...
I then started by just using a FumeFX simple source and hit the preview button which opened the preview window and the solver. Unfortunately each frame took something like one and a half seconds to compute which is way too slow when comparing it with the video tutorials, where each frame took something like .3 seconds!
Ok - so to check I installed it on my second workstation (Dual Xeon E5-2630 @2.00 GHz - 32GB Ram - Quadro 4000) and it works like a charm.
Can anybody help? What could be the issue? I tried everything (Spacing, Scratch Disc to SSD, Quality settings, GPU rendering...) nothing worked...
Please!
Thanks in advance
Jürgen

MaxScript access to SpaceWarps/Effectors

Hi!
I would like to read out all used objects of a FumeFX-container via MaxScript. It works with sources and geo-objects, as stated in the documentation (numsources(), getsource(), etc). Is this also possible with Space Warps and Effectors? I could not find it in the helpfile and was not able to guess the function-names.
Edit: I just noticed that the AddObject-function seems to be not working in FumeFX 3.5.1. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance
Bjoern

Hey guys
I am wondering how can I make a smoke stack in fume that looks like its big scale?(i want to do those directional far away smoke columns you see in movies, that have very strong drag. Is there any setting to make my sims look bigger scale?
example, like these big smoke stacks at minute 2:10 in the distance(very slow moving look big scale) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... TGRY_3583c
what about the drag? i applied drag but my smoke doesn't seem to be slowing down at all(or dissipating softly at the end
if you can give me a few tips much appreciated
thanks
Fabio

I made the attached file in 2013. It wouldn't render in 2013, so I exported it to 2012. In 2012 it works fine. 2013 just gives me an empty render. Can someone confirm this problem and suggest a solution please?
Thanks
Mark
