Smoothness in Sim - davidSchoneveld - 10-09-2013

I'm trying to figure out how to smooth parts of the sim that are getting... rough/spotted/broken. In maya fluids this happens when the velocity is higher than the densitys/sim steps ability to fill-in in between. It can also be from render interpolation. Do I need more substeps or can I fix this in render? or is there another way to get a smoother sim?

I can see part of the reason is that I pushed the opacity to 4 on the smoke rendering exaggerating the issue. upping the smoke and turning down the smoke opacity mult its smoother but the problem still exists.

Hi David,

You could reduce the rendering step size and increase the jittering.
That would smooth out the voxels a bit.

I hope it helps.
