boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - dagoose - 07-03-2014 FumeFX crashes while allocating memory when boundless is used and the fumeFX nodes (container, object, objects source) are transformed. The only way I can set my fire to the location the asset has in the shot is to switch off boundless. Apply the transformations. Sim one frame (fume goes crazy but doesn't crash). Switch back on my boundless settings. cheers rico Re: boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - sitnisati - 07-03-2014 Hello, Thank you for a bug report. Can you please post a scene that we can test? Regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - dagoose - 07-04-2014 If you don't switch off boundless .. the sim dies while allocating memory. cheers rico [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] Re: boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - sitnisati - 07-09-2014 Hello, Thank you very much for this scene. We've found what is the issue and currently the workaround is to move the whole group closer to scene point of origin (0,0,0). Best regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - dagoose - 08-07-2014 Hi, I downloaded and installed the latest version of fumefx and the corresponding vray shader yesterday. The issue with open boundaries still exists. Maya/fumeFX freezes while trying to allocate memory. Moving everything close to 0, 0 ,0 for simming on a netwotk machine works. Cheers Rico Re: boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - sitnisati - 08-07-2014 Hello, 3.5.5 is not yet released. Regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - rconover - 08-07-2014 I will be away on vacation for two weeks-but it would be nice to get this fix soon. I have a shot where only my own 32 GB ram machine can 'recover' from the initial boundless sim to do a correct result. Our 16 GB farm machines crash trying the 'stop simulation' of the boundless sim but an expected boundary would probably be fine-if i could only get there... Re: boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - dagoose - 08-08-2014 heay rconover, did you try to group and bring all your sim objects close to 0 ,0, 0? That works for so far for sims on the farm. cheers Rico Re: boundless and transforms -> memory allocation fails - rconover - 08-08-2014 It probably would-but in my case I am working on a series of shots with sets locations and ref models. Continuity is very important. The workaround is probably possible-but not practical for my turnarounds. I find simming locally the lesser of two evils. |
