Migrate to a network license? (newbie question) - KenTanker0us - 06-15-2015 Hello friends, I'm new here. I have a small network and I use a laptop as license server/render farm manager. I have already installed FFX on my workstation and I have installed 2 sim licenses on my farm. They are getting their license from my workstation for now. What I am interested in is migrating the licensing from this workstation to the laptop. I have done some searching in this forum and all I've found is the youtube video where you create a folder for AFLICS and copy the files there, with all the other procedure. My question is this: do I need to follow that youtube procedure, or is there a newer/better way to migrate my licensing to another machine? Thank you for any and all advice. Re: Migrate to a network license? (newbie question) - sitnisati - 06-16-2015 Hello, At this point there is no way to move the license files to another machine. You will need to re-authorize plugins on a new machine and remove the license file on the existing one. Regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: Migrate to a network license? (newbie question) - KenTanker0us - 06-16-2015 Thank you for the quick response. Would the re-authorization be online as before? Or would I have to do it manually? Thank you for your advice. Re: Migrate to a network license? (newbie question) - sitnisati - 06-16-2015 Hello, Since I don't know how many authorizations you already have, I suggest that you go through the manual authorization process. Regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: Migrate to a network license? (newbie question) - KenTanker0us - 09-24-2015 Thank you for your help. I'm getting a license error 6 with manual authorization. It tells me that it cannot be authorized online. Can you help please? Re: Migrate to a network license? (newbie question) - sitnisati - 09-25-2015 Hello, Please save the information from the auth dialog to a .txt file and send to supoprt@afterworks.com Thank you. Regards, Kresimir Tkalcec |
