Fire in layers - ddustin - 02-25-2008 Hello, I had a request from a client to try something after I had sent him an example of the modified coolvapors project file. He asked if it was possible to have the vapor catch fire. Could that be done with one project or would it need to be done in 2 separate simulations and composited together? thank you, David Re: Fire in layers - sitnisati - 02-25-2008 Hello David, You can emit fuel over the space and then ignite it at certain location and burning will spread. I have to mention that it's not a very easy task to make fire spread as user wish, so it may take some experimentation. Usually, temperature diffusion helps. Kresimir Re: Fire in layers - amckay - 03-04-2008 yep I did a tutorial on this but I dont have it with me.. but you are able to get one object to emit fuel which is renderable.. and then catch it on fire. to make it ignite quicker, set the temperature higher on your fire, but primarily set your ignition temperature under 'simulation tab' to a much lower value so it burns quicker. If you use particles to emit your 'gas' you can adjust your emitters radius to make it bigger or smaller to give it a tighter area to emit from. hope that helps, -Allan McKay Re: Fire in layers - Bandu - 03-10-2008 burning fuel ?? long time ago I did something similar... http://www.b3d-animations.com/ffx/burningfuel_01t.mov very important on this is the expansions and heat production value of the burning fire. this should be high enough to pass the temperature from fire to fuel but not to hot, as hot fire and temperature rise up with buoyancy and doesn't goes sidewards. cheers, Bandu |
