Hi Matttrebor,
are you having any circular dependencies, i.e., are you trying to pick FumeFX object which has a reference to selected Tex3D map?
Try using the "Select From Scene" dialog:
- Click Pick button in Tex3D map
- Press 'h' to open selection interface
- check if FumeFX object is in list.
If it isn't, then FumeFX object you want to select most probably (directly or indirectly) already has a connection with Tex3D object. Check if any map slot in FumeFX object has inserted that Tex3D object.
