I did a bit of testing in max 2013. Here's EXACTLY what I did and the results. Something is amiss between ScatterVLPro and Afterburn. I use both often in the same projects, so I' be very grateful if you could provide a fix.
1. I uninstalled Afterburn and ScatterVLPro then reinstalled ScatterVLPro and Afterburn in that order
RESULT - AB works, ScatterVLPro broken
2. I then uninstalled AB only
RESULT - get error 'scatterdlpro.dll failed to initialize. Error code 126 - The specified module could not be found' when trying to add ScatterVLPro to project
3. then I uninstalled ScatterVLPro then reinstalled it (didn't reinstall AB)
RESULT - ScatterVLPro works again
4. installed AB again
RESULT - AB is ok but ScatterVLPro is broken again
