Hi,
I am testing lighting with fumefx (and vray) and I'm running into two issues:
- while lighting with spot and point lights, fumefx is super fast to render (using the illumination map). But using a directional light it becomes really slow (the difference for the illumation map calculation is 5.1 sec for two spotlights vs. 132.6 sec for one directional light). Is this normal behavior? Interestingly, a vray rectangular light "only" takes 57.7 seconds, which is still long, but a lot faster that the directional light.
- rendering with gi on, make the volume go black (at least in a particular test scene which I include and also contains the light setup discribed in the first point)
One point I should notice is, that we are on vray3 nightly builds, not on the original vray3 for maya build
Cheers,
Ronny
