BUG report. GPU preview dumps files

Hi, I'm getting a wierd bug, that I can't quite seem to figure out.
Whenever I'm using my GPU preview, a bunch of random files gets dumped on the root of the same drive as where my project is set. The specific file path is not present anywhere in the scene, nor in fumefx.
I've attached a screenshot of the files it creates from just scrubbing two frames. They're not always named the same thing.
I'm simulating as OpenVDB, if that's of any help.
I hope I can get some help, because it's a bit of a mess in the pipeline.

Final render crash

Hi ,
i'm getting crashes with Final Render and fumefx, the frame renders fine , then crashes right at the end.
It works if Shadow maps are used, if any other mode is used it crashes.
we're using 2016 with fume 4.0.3
The problem isn't specific to a scene, it can easily be recreated with a very basic scene.
If you sim a few frames then render, i get a crash.
if you turn off shadows on the light it will not crash, but obviously , no shadows.
Thanks

Anyone else having trouble getting shadows to work with Max 2017 and Mental Ray?

Hi,
Long-time user that is having trouble getting shadows to work in Max 2017, when using Mental Ray. I have checked the usual suspects like MR Cast Shadows and Receive, I ma using a Direct Target light with Shadows on (Ray Traced), Atmosphere shadows checked, light added to FumeFX grid under Illum, Use Autovolume checked, MR Exposure Control with non-physically based lighting, etc. All the things I normally do, but to no avail.
Starting a simple scene from scratch doesn't seem to create shadows, nor do scenes that I have built previously that worked in 2016.
Attached are 2 images, one rendered in 2016, same file in 2017.
Any ideas?
Thank you for your help,
Greg

Hi
Can I submit the simulation on network using Deadline. We don't use backburner.
I followed the network simulation setup from the help file. But was wondering is it possible to send a simulation job
through Deadline ?
Thanks

I'm getting an error when placing a lattice on my fume grid
// Error: FumeFX: computWorldSurface : logicalIndex //
// (kFailure): Data type is not valid here //
// -> in file warps\ffxShapeNode.cpp and line 1144
The preview of the fluid sometimes will show up, some times it goes away. The fluid then stops updating after the the time line is scrubbed

Hi
I doing a post processing with retime with a value of 0.07 enabled on an existing simulation.
As I am still doing the testing, I kept the gird spacing at default 1.
But while reading the post cache, there is stutter in first 150 frames for every 20 frames or so.
Any ideas on how i could reduce this.

Problem in rendering on farm

Hi,
we recently bought a fume fx license and along with it we got 5 mr shader licenses.
we installed all these on our farm and authorised them through the AfterFLICS from the workstation.
Now the local render comes out fine, with both MR and Vray.
However when we send the scene on the farm to render, using Deadline. we get an odd error,
we tried looking on the net for similar problem, but i haven't found any thing of that sort. I hope you guys could shed some light on this.
we are using Fume Fx 4, Maya 2016
Here is the log from Deadline error report. I am also posting this on Deadline forums, I thought it would be nice to know if you guys have any idea on as well.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Log from Deadline report.

Importing VDB is offset.

Hello....
I'm writing out VDB files from Fume but when I import the VDB back into Maya the VDB is moved to the origin. I have to move the vdb by hand back to its original position it was simmed at. So what I was doing was copying the translate from the original Fume sim onto the VDB. However it still doesnt seem to be in the right place. There is still an offset. Presumably because the bounding boxes are being calculated differently.
How can I work out what the correct offset is?
Thanks.
