2 drastically different results: same file, 2 machines

I ran into the same issue last week, but on the same machine.
I had to merge an already prepared fume setup into a scene and I was getting the same thing! Even though everything was exactly the same in both scenes, it seemed like the expansion and temperature was much higher than in the original setup.
