Hello,
Let me me explain... Each times a server node render my sequence, the first frame made by this server does not have shadows. This bug apear in Vray and Scanline renderer. Even in local now, my scene did not render properly at first render. It's pretty anoying when you try to light your scene... Only some of my FumeFX Box do that. I have try to recreate my lightning and cache, but no change...
Anyone ever get this bug... We really need to solve this issue soon as possible.
I can't post example but it could be related to this issue...

Licence server Lag... Urgent!!!

Hello,
We have a licence server controlling floating licences for fumeFx. The connection seems fine, and we can get the licences from the server, however, we get a lag of more than 20 seconces each time FumeFX or AfterBurn try to get a licence from the licence server (can go up to 2minutes 30 seconds).
Anybody ever get this problem? When using a local licence we don't have any problems. Our production team cannot work like that, it causes great delays in production.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem before. When I render a Single image of my scene containing an AfterBurn 4.0 environment, attached to a Particle Flow system, the render looks correct, but if I attempt to render an animation (via Frames or Range), it repeatedly renders the first frame of the animation even though the frame counter is incrementing as indicated in the Rendered Frame Window. It thought this may have been a more general problem, so I deactivated the AB4 environment, and changed the PF Render type from 'none' to 'Geometry'. The animation rendered correctly. Rendering an animation of the AB environment appears to be a problem.
The 3ds Max 2009 (32-bit) scene file and a Quicktime H.264 video are available:

Thanks a bunch for any insight on this problem!

So I've smoke with no buoyancy so it pretty much stays put. I want the smoke to fade away (similar to what flames would do, but slower) though without keyframing its opacity. I've messed with the diffuse and dissipation settings but I'm not having any luck.

Afterburn 4.0 Light Moving Problem

Hi,
I noticed a problem in Afterburn 4.0, when I attached a light into the Afterburn environment manager, I can no longer move the light "smoothly" in the viewports. The light snaps and jumps around even though I have all snapping turned off. As soon as I remove the light from the Afterburn manager, I can move the light smoothly again. The sample that I used involved an standard omni light.
I attached a ZIP file that contains a video that demonstrates this problem, as well as the 3ds Max scene file. I am currently using 3ds Max 2009 (32-bit, 11.0 SP1), Afterburn 4.0 (32-bit), and Microsoft Vista Ultimate (32-bit, SP1).
Thanks,
Robert Graf

Two AB systems blowing out when rendered together...

Here's the problem: I've got 2 Afterburn systems, one "small", one "large" using sticky particles based off of some verts. I'm using the AB Shadow Map on some spotlights, Lambert shader, "sphere" and "smoke" type and the "raymarcher" rendering type. They have 2 different step sizes. Shadow Cast, Shadow Receive and Self Shadows are all turned on.
If I render the "large" clouds by themselves, looks great. When I render the "small" clouds by themselves, great. When I render them together, though, the "small" clouds not only blow out to pure white, but lose their noise.
I've tried turning off some of the lights for the "small" system (large and small share lights) thinking that somehow it was multiplying the lights on themselves, and this works a bit, but the noise is still gone. Again, though, only the "small" clouds are affected.
What's going on here? Here are some pics...
